KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM March 12, 2018 <br />Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Vice -Chairman <br />Obie O'Brien; Commissioner Paul Jewell <br />Others: Mark Cook, Lucas Huck, Candie Leader, Public Works; Dan <br />Carlson, Stephanie Mifflin, Lindsey Ozbolt, Mike Flory, <br />Community Development Services; Neil Caulkins, Prosecutor's <br />Office, Kayla Bonar, Daily Record; Three (3) members of the <br />public <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING LOAD RESTRICTIONS ON <br />CERTAIN COUNTY BRIDGES AND PRESCRIBING A MISDEMEANOR FOR <br />VIOLATION THEREOF <br />At 2:46 pm Chairman Laura Osiadacz opened the Public Works Study <br />Session. Mark Cook requested to add one item to the agenda - <br />Runway 7/25 - Form 7480. Commissioner Jewell requested to <br />discuss items four (4) and seven (7) due to his commitment to <br />another meeting at 3:00pm. <br />Lucas Huck presented a Resolution for consideration regarding <br />placing load restrictions on certain county bridges. He stated <br />that the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) developed new <br />calculations for determining the weight a bridge can safely <br />carry and to allow heavier trucks on roadways. He added that <br />staff coordinated with KPFF (on call Structural Engineering <br />Consultants) to identify bridges in county inventory that may <br />require load ratings. Staff has identified fifteen (15) bridges <br />that require new vehicle weight restrictions and two (2) <br />additional bridges that require shoulder restrictions. <br />Discussion was held. Commissioner Osiadacz called for a motion <br />to approve Resolution 2018-047 Authorizing Load Restrictions on <br />Certain County Bridges and Prescribing a Misdemeanor for <br />Violation Thereof. Commissioner O'Brien moved to approve <br />Resolution 2018-047. Commissioner Jewell seconded said motion. <br />Motion carried 3-0 with no discussion - <br />2018 -03-12 MINUTES <br />
