792 -CH COURTHOUSE UNION <br />C. Should an employee receive workman's compensation for time loss and <br />also receive sick leave compensation, the sick leave accrual will be <br />reduced by the total number of hours on sick leave minus the number of <br />hours at the hourly rate paid from a workman's compensation fund, to <br />the nearest half day. In the event of overpayment, the employee is <br />obligated to return such overpayment to the County. <br />D. Until eligibility for workman's compensation is determined by the <br />Department of Labor and Industries, the County shall grant access to <br />available sick leave for the first three (3) days, provided that the <br />employee shall return any subsequent overpayment to the County. <br />E. Should any employee apply for time loss compensation and the claim is <br />then or later denied, sick leave and annual leave may be used for the <br />absence in accordance with other provisions of this rule. <br />F. Nothing herein pertains to permanent disability award. <br />G. If an employee has no sick leave accumulated, annual leave may be <br />substituted for sick leave. <br />ARTICLE XVI — BEREAVEMENT LEAV <br />16.1 Paid Bereavement Leave shall be limited to three (3) days in any one instance. <br />The Employer may grant additional days, not to exceed five (5) days, if the death <br />of an immediate family member occurs out of state. Immediate family includes <br />only persons related by blood or marriage or legal adoption in the degree of <br />consanguinity of wife, husband, parent, grandparent, brother, sister, child or <br />grandchild of the employee and other relatives residing in the employee's <br />household. It is understood that this leave is granted separate and apart from <br />vacation, compensatory and/or sick leave. <br />ARTICLE XVII — HEALTH AND WELFARE <br />17.1 The Employer participates in an insurance trust with the Washington Counties <br />Insurance Fund, which provides a choice of major medical, dental, vision, and <br />basic life insurance plans for employees of the County. <br />17.1.1 Effective January 1, 2017, the Employer agrees to contribute $700.00 per <br />employee per month for benefit premiums and contributions to be used <br />to purchase employee healthcare coverage (medical, dental, vision, and <br />Page <br />17 <br />
