<br />09/06/2016 MINUTES 5 <br /> <br /> <br />indicated they would contact the Sheriff’s Department with specific <br />information. Holly Duncan, Public Health Department, said they have a <br />temporary food permit and submitted plans for portable toilets, etc. for <br />the event. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jewell moved to deny the Special Event Application from <br />CloneAPalooza. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jewell said the applications have continued to be submitted <br />late each year and there are rules in place. He said the event has <br />occurred before so the timeline is not new to the applicant. He noted <br />the Sheriff’s office had voiced strong concerns relating to the event <br />and Commissioner Jewell suggested changing the date for the event and <br />re-submit another application. <br /> <br />Commissioner Osiadacz explained how her ultimate duty as a County <br />Commissioner is to protect the welfare of the citizens and if the <br />Sheriff’s Department has expressed concerns relating to the event, it is <br />something that cannot be ignored. <br /> <br />Chairman O’Brien noted the applicant could appeal their decision in <br />writing to Superior Court within 10 days. <br /> <br />Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />MISCELLANEOUS - NONE <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION - NONE <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Commissioner Jewell moved to adjourn the meeting at 10:53 a.m. <br />Commissioner Osiadacz seconded.
