Gray & Osborne will submit the following:
Electronic survey data in CM13D 2014 format for Topography and Right of Way survey work.
09 Electronic copies in .pdf format of survey field notes.
Excel spreadsheet of Survey Control for incorporation into engineering documents Identifying
horizontal and vertical coordinates and physical descriptions of site Benchmarks.
GEOTECHNICAL STUDY
PanGEO will perform the geotechnical study.
Existing Information Review — Review existing, readily available geologic and geotechnical information in
general vicinity of the project area.
Field Exploration & Lab Testing — Perform a visual site reconnaissance and mark locations for one test
boring at each of the four culvert replacement locations and arrange one -call utility locating. Subcontract
drill rig and crew and perform four test borings not to exceed 30 feet deep each. Monitor and log the test
borings by a PanGEO geotechnical engineer or engineering geologist. Obtain Standard Penetration Test
(SPT) samples at approximately 5 -foot intervals when drilling in soil. Perform index lab testing on select
samples collected from the test borings for sample description and material property identification.
Engineering & Regortin,g -- Based on the information obtained from the information review, field
explorations and lab testing, prepare geotechnical engineering recommendations for culvert replacement
foundation support including direct support on grade, driven piles and spread footing options, as
appropriate. Provide estimates of nominal strength and service bearing resistance for new or replacement
foundations in general accordance with AASHTO LRFD methodology. Provide culvert and headwall
backfill design parameters for lateral earth pressures. Provide construction considerations. Prepare draft
and final reports containing results and conclusions of the reconnaissance, field explorations, lab testing
and engineering analyses.
Assumptions and Exclusions:
Right -of -entry and/or permits to be provided by Kittitas County, if necessary.
Traffic control and flagging for drilling of test borings, if necessary, to be provided by 10Ettitas
County.
Drilling at all four locations will occur on a single mobilization of drill crew and equipment.
Approximate locations of exploration points will be referenced to known site features. Survey
location of the actual test boring locations will be by others, if necessary.
The site soils are assumed to be "clean" (i.e., no hazardous materials or contamination), therefore
drill cuttings will be disposed of on site. No archeological screening of cuttings or samples
produced or collected from the borings will be performed.
The assessment of potential presence or absence of wetlands on the site is excluded from this
scope of work.
The assessment of potential presence or absence of chemical or hazardous material properties of
soil and groundwater in the geotechnical borings is excluded from this scope of work.
HYDRAULIC STUDY
Watershed Science and Engineering (WSE) will provide hydraulic design support for each crossing.
Specific tasks to be completed by WSE for each crossing are described below.
Page 2
