Cook <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Direct staff conducts outreach to local law enforcement agencies for constructing <br />a regional firing range. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Last month, staff met with a representative from the Kittitas Riffle Club discussing <br />the club's desire relocating their existing facility to airport industrial lands. The <br />current facility was constructed in 1947 near what is now an elementary school <br />(Mt Stuart). The club is considering selling assets and desires reinvesting in a <br />replacement facility. Staff discussed various development options including the <br />possibility of pursuing a regional firing range. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The club has attempted discussions previously with law enforcement agencies <br />but has no met with any success. Staff is prepared to take on the outreach effort <br />attempting to define options leading to a combined multiuse facility.
