With this vacant <br />position it leaves current staff to manage the current and <br />incoming workload of the routine tasks associated with the <br />permitting process. Staff would like to prepare a request <br />for qualifications to receive assistance with the more <br />complicated permits. Currently, the department has an on <br />call contract with Jacobs and a task order may be another <br />avenue to pursue. <br />Board Direction: Commissioner Jewell recommended pursuing a task <br />order with Jacobs for permit support. <br />MANASTASH BRIDGE LOAD <br />LIMIT: Mark reported that the bridge inspector, Ken Bamford, <br />recently evaluated the bridge at the end of Manastash <br />Road. He found significant damage to request a structural <br />evaluation and set a load limit. There has been significant <br />spalling of the girders. Staff has signage ready to post at <br />the bridge for the load rating. Commissioner Jewell <br />suggested a letter be sent to local contractors and <br />residents to inform them of the issue. Mark replied that <br />staff will wait to put up signage after the letters are sent <br />out. <br />Board Direction: Prepare a letter informing local contractors and <br />residents of the load rating for the bridge. <br />REVISED CHANGE ORDER <br />W., *174*1r-'r101 <br />REQUIREMENTS: Mark presented a change order policy with updated <br />changes suggested from previous discussions with the <br />Board. The process being proposed has the BOCC calling <br />a special meeting if the change order amount is over <br />$50,000 anything under that amount is at the discretion of <br />the Public Works Director.
