KITTITAS COUNTY
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
PUBLIC WORKS — BOARD OF COUMTY COMMISSIONERS
WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT
WORK SESSION DATE: December 74, 2015
TOPIC: City of Roslyn Snow Removal Agreement Request
ACTIO! REQUESTED: Approve the Agreement
LEAD STAFF: Mark R. Cook
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the requested snow removal agreement between the County and the
City of Roslyn.
BACKGROUND:
Recently, Public Works was contacted with a request for snow removal support
from the City of Roslyn. Recognizing the value of providing assistance to small
cities in the County, we are interested in supporting the request. Public Works
currently supports several Washington State agencies with snow removal
services in Upper County.
DISCUSSION:
We propose plowing a prioritized list of City of Roslyn school bus routes
supporting additional City streets once County routes are plowed. Addressing
the need for immediate snow removal on prioritized school routes provides the
highest level of support while minimally impacting other County snow removal
routes.
FISCAL IMPACTS:
All costs are covered with an additional 15% offsetting administrative costs
associated with the agreement.
ATTACHMENTS: Exhibit 1: Snow Removal Agreement between Kittitas County
and the City of Roslyn.
Page y of i
PUBLIC WORKS BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT
