Board of Health Minutes <br />July 13, 2016 <br />3 of 4 <br />Emergency Operation s Plan approval <br />Kasey Knutson reviewed recent updates to the Kittitas County Public Health Department Emergency <br />Operation Plan that defines the roles and responsibilities of Kittitas County Public Health Employees in <br />an emergency. Commissioner O'Brien asked for a motion to approve the resolution approving the Kittitas <br />County Public Health Emergency Operations Plan. <br />Motion 07-02: Motion to approve Resolution 2016-01 adopting the Kittitas County Public Health <br />Department's Emergency Operations Plan. Rich Elliott moved to approve Resolution 2016-01 <br />adopting the Kittitas County Public Health Department's Emergency Operations Plan. Laura <br />Osiadacz second. All approved. Motion 07-02 carried to approve Resolution 2016-01 adopting the <br />Kittitas County Public Health Department's Emergency Operations Plan. <br />Public Health Accreditation update <br />Robin Read updated BOH members on the public health accreditation processes. The following is <br />updated information presented at today's meeting: <br />• Public health is applying for accreditation to ensure public health department's quality of service <br />• Accreditation aims to continuously improve quality of practice and performance <br />• Public Health Accreditation Board is based on 10 public health services <br />• There are 12 domains, 32 standards, 99 measures, and 214 documentation types <br />• There are 123 tasks generated <br />Ms. Read reviewed the seven steps to accreditation: <br />• Pre -application <br />• Application submitted by June 30, 2017 <br />• Documentation Selection and submission <br />• Site visit (Fall 2018) <br />• Accreditation decision (2019) <br />• Annual reporting and fees (2019-2023) <br />• Reaccreditations (2022-2024) <br />Ms. Read also informed the next steps for the health department are the following: <br />• Reassess status of documentation types (done by mid-September) <br />• Continue working on meeting standards and measures (work on through December 2017) <br />• Prepare six month updates to BOH <br />• Budget for fees ($14,000 for the first year and $5,600.00 for years 2-5) <br />Other: <br />Rich Elliott noted that in a period of ten days there have been five motor vehicle deaths. Four out of six <br />people were not using seatbelts. Mr. Elliott will work with the newspaper to get information out about <br />construction on I-90 and for people to drive with caution this summer. <br />Meeting adjourned at 4: 26 p.m. <br />Next Board of Health Meeting will be held on July 13 2016 at 10:00 a.m. <br />
