Board of Health Minutes July 13, 2016 3 of 4 Emergency Operation s Plan approval Kasey Knutson reviewed recent updates to the Kittitas County Public Health Department Emergency Operation Plan that defines the roles and responsibilities of Kittitas County Public Health Employees in an emergency. Commissioner O'Brien asked for a motion to approve the resolution approving the Kittitas County Public Health Emergency Operations Plan. Motion 07-02: Motion to approve Resolution 2016-01 adopting the Kittitas County Public Health Department's Emergency Operations Plan. Rich Elliott moved to approve Resolution 2016-01 adopting the Kittitas County Public Health Department's Emergency Operations Plan. Laura Osiadacz second. All approved. Motion 07-02 carried to approve Resolution 2016-01 adopting the Kittitas County Public Health Department's Emergency Operations Plan. Public Health Accreditation update Robin Read updated BOH members on the public health accreditation processes. The following is updated information presented at today's meeting: • Public health is applying for accreditation to ensure public health department's quality of service • Accreditation aims to continuously improve quality of practice and performance • Public Health Accreditation Board is based on 10 public health services • There are 12 domains, 32 standards, 99 measures, and 214 documentation types • There are 123 tasks generated Ms. Read reviewed the seven steps to accreditation: • Pre -application • Application submitted by June 30, 2017 • Documentation Selection and submission • Site visit (Fall 2018) • Accreditation decision (2019) • Annual reporting and fees (2019-2023) • Reaccreditations (2022-2024) Ms. Read also informed the next steps for the health department are the following: • Reassess status of documentation types (done by mid-September) • Continue working on meeting standards and measures (work on through December 2017) • Prepare six month updates to BOH • Budget for fees ($14,000 for the first year and $5,600.00 for years 2-5) Other: Rich Elliott noted that in a period of ten days there have been five motor vehicle deaths. Four out of six people were not using seatbelts. Mr. Elliott will work with the newspaper to get information out about construction on I-90 and for people to drive with caution this summer.
