Several months ago, Public Works met with 32 residents residing on Loping Lane
and Wiehl Road. A vast majority of owners expressed interest in pursuing an
RID. We have prepared a detailed cost estimate and provided it recently to the
community. Wiehl Road serves approximately 64 total lots. The community is
now deciding how best to proceed. We expect that an elective process is the
best course of action for the permanent residents served by Wiehl Road. Public
Works anticipates another Teanaway Grange meeting in the near future
discussing the best path forward with area residents.
FISCAL IMPACTS:
Public Works proposes constructing all three proposai using financial reserves.
RID costs are being run at an interest rate of three (3) percent. The target cost
recovery period for all three proposals in ten (10) years.
ATTACHMENTS:
EXHIBIT 1: BILTMORE DRIVE PETITION FOR RID
EXHIBIT 2: COST ESTIMATE FOR WIEHL ROAD
EXHIBIT 3: PRELIMINARY COST EVALUATION FOR DOUGLAS AND
BROWN
PUBLIC WORKS BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT
