KI=AS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE January 28, 2019 <br />ACTION REQUESTED Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the <br />Chair's Signature on Washington State Department <br />of Transportation's Certification Acceptance <br />Qualification Agreement <br />BACKGROUND: Public Works maintains "Certified Agency" status with <br />Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) <br />— Local Programs. The status allows the County to <br />administer its own federal transportation grants without <br />relying on state management. The recent departure of the <br />Engineering Services Manager resulted in a call from the <br />Region Local Programs Engineer requesting an updated <br />"Certification Acceptance Qualification Agreement" be <br />submitted for WSDOT consideration. <br />The proposed agreement assigns compliance assurance to <br />the "County Engineer or Acting County Engineer". It is <br />anticipated that this chance will be acceptable to WSDOT <br />Local Programs. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECONMIENDATION: Authorize the Chair's signature on the Washington State <br />Department of Transportation's Certification Acceptance <br />Qualification Agreement <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACEffdENTS: Resolution with agreement <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
