KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: June 24, 2019 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Award the Contract for <br />the Weihl Road Improvements Project No. RC1574-B2/ <br />CRP No. 281-18 to Granite Construction Company and <br />Authorize the Director's Signature on Contract Documents. <br />BACKGROUND: Public Works opened construction bids for the Weihl Road <br />Improvements Project No. RCI 574-B2/CRP No. 281-18 on <br />June 20, 2019. Five (5) bidders responded and the lowest <br />responsible bidder is Granite Construction Company in the <br />amount of $773,258.75. The Engineer's estimate is <br />$861,320. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to Award the contract to for the <br />Weihl Road Improvements Project No. RC1574-B2/CRP <br />No. 281-18 to Granite Construction Company and <br />authorize the Director's signature on contract documents <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
