public hearing can be scheduled to receive citizen comment but Public <br />Works would be recommending not lowering the speed limit based on <br />current information. Commissioner Cory Wright stated that he would <br />like to see an additional study done with the recreational traffic now <br />using the roadway. Staff was directed to conduct an additional study <br />to record the recreational traffic speeds. <br />OTHER BUSINESS: <br />PUBLIC FACILITIES APPLICATION - BOWERS FIELD FSO BUILDING <br />Mark Cook stated that one member of the Board of County Commissioners <br />suggested that a Public Facilities application be completed for the <br />construction of a Fixed Based Operator (FBO) building at Bowers Field. <br />Mark Cook continued that with the current staffing and work load the <br />deadline for the application may not be met. Mark Cook added that <br />currently staff does not have an on-call Consultant that could offer <br />assistance with the application. Mark Cook commented that <br />Administrative Assistant Candie Leader offered the suggestion of using <br />the application to secure design funding for the project and go to <br />construction at a later date. Discussion was held. <br />UPPER COUNTY MAINTENANCE SHOP UTILITY EXTENSION <br />Mark Cook reported that he was given notice that the utility extension <br />bid opening with the City of Cle Elum was held. Mark Cook continued <br />that nine (9) bids were received and the low bid was one hundred <br />thousand ($100,000) dollars below the Engineer's Estimate. Mark Cook <br />added that the City of Cle Elum is considering the bid for award <br />tomorrow night at the scheduled Council meeting and he is going to <br />attend to offer support and answer any questions. Mark Cook stated <br />that he would like direction from the Board regarding their support <br />and affirmation of the project. Discussion was held.
