KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: August 12, 2019 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Awarding the <br />Design and Environmental Permitting Contract for <br />the Nanuem Road Culvert Replacement Project to <br />Jacobs and Authorize the Director of Public Works <br />to negotiate scope of work and sign said the <br />required local agency agreement. <br />BACKGROUND: Public Works produced a Statement of <br />Qualifications seeking to hire a consultant for <br />Design and Environmental Permitting services for <br />the Naneum Road Replacement Project. The Board <br />of County Commissioners directed Public Works <br />advertise for said services by issuing a Request for <br />Qualifications in the local paper of record. Eight (8) <br />qualified firms responded to the request for <br />qualifications process closing on June 27, 2019. A <br />review committee of Public Works evaluated the <br />proposal and reviewers have selected Jacobs to <br />perform design and environmental permitting <br />services for said project. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution to Award the Design and <br />Environmental Permitting Contract to Jacobs for <br />the Naneum Road Culvert Replacement Project <br />and Authorize the Director of Public Works to <br />negotiate scope of work and fee and sign the <br />required local agency agreement once negotiated. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Director <br />
