Evaluate existing design for using temporary detour bridge for
I year rather than originally anticipated 3 month duration.
TASK 3.60— Revise Geotechnical Recommendation for 60ft Span
Hart Crowser will provide geotechnical project management and support services,
including coordinating staff and conducting telephone consultations and email
communications with the design team. Hart Crowser will attend up to two teleconferences.
Hart Crowser will conduct engineering analyses to provide revised estimates of ground
settlement and abutment stability for a precast concrete abutment system for the revised
bridge length. Hart Crowers will also develop geotechnical design parameters and evaluate
global stability for the GRS-IBS system alternative.
Engineering analysis will be completed in general conformance with appropriate
Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) design manuals.
Hart Crowser will consult with the design team regarding their findings.
Hart Crowser will prepare a geotechnical report supplemental to document their findings
and recommendations. The supplement will address design and construction issues,
including:
Updated foundation design and construction considerations
Updated abutment settlement and global stability estimates and construction
considerations
Geotechnical design parameters for the GRS-IBS system
• GRS-IBS settlement and global stability estimates and construction considerations
A draft supplement will be provided to the design team for review and comments. A final
supplement will be prepared that addresses review comments from the design team.
