KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY <br />Board members present <br />Osiadacz <br />1:30 PM <br />NOVEMBER 25, 2019 <br />Chairman Cory Wright, Commissioner Laura <br />Others: Mark Cook and Candie Leader, Public Works; Jason Eklund, <br />Information Technology and Three (3) Members of the Public <br />At 1:30 pm Chairman Cory Wright opened the Public Works Study Session. <br />Mark Cook stated he had no additional items to add to the agenda. <br />VANTAGE HIGHWAY OVERLAY PROJECT <br />Mark Cook gave background on the project and the updating of the <br />traffic safety plan. Mark Cook stated that Public Works was awarded <br />1.03 million dollars for the asphalt overlay and additionally awarded <br />1.15 million dollars for guardrail installation for a total of 2.18 <br />million dollars. Mark Cook continued that staff will go out for <br />consultant design for the project with sealed bids being advertised <br />around May 2020. <br />KITTITAS VALLEY FIRE AND RESCUE REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE <br />Mark Cook stated that Public Works has been asked by Kittitas Valley <br />Fire and Rescue to assist with the relocation within a five mile <br />radius of the existing fire station at Fairview and Brickmill Roads. <br />Mark Cook continued that he does have a staff member that is capable <br />of performing the GIS assistance; however, he spoke with IT Director <br />Jim Goeben and his staff member Jason Eklund has volunteered to be <br />available if needed. Staff was directed to move forward. <br />UPPER COUNTY TRAFFIC TASK FORCE UPDATE <br />Mark Cook gave background on the original formation of the Upper <br />County Traffic Task Force and that the group has struggled with <br />maintaining a quorum and membership. Mark Cook stated that a request <br />to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office was made regarding the formation <br />of the group and if they are a working committee. Mark Cook continued <br />that the response was that they are not an official group therefore no <br />minutes need to be taken or Robert's Rules of Order do not apply. <br />Mark Cook added that he met with the group last week and they <br />requested to appoint Sabrina Risher, have a secretary in the group <br />record minutes and they want to follow Robert's Rules of Order. <br />Discussion was held. Commissioner Laura Osiadacz made a motion to <br />appoint Sabrina Risher to the task force with Chairman Cory Wright <br />2019-11-25 MINUTES <br />
