Road Name Policy <br />All rural roads will be assigned one name for its entire continuous length, regardless of ownership. If the <br />road is broken by intervening land use, each portion will be assigned a separate independent name, The <br />figure below illustrates the correct name placement for roads located in rural areas. <br />51�iTH P.D. surrH Ao. <br />110- JONES RD, <br />A road located within an existing grid, such as the City of Ellensburg and the surrounding Urban Growth <br />Area, should have only one name for its entire length. If it is not a through street but is broken by <br />intervening land uses, and is laid out at a distance point in similar location, the same name would be <br />used. in cases of this nature when approval of new subdivision is considered, the grid system indicates <br />street names needed. The figure below illustrates the correct name placement of roads located in an <br />addressing grid. <br />Assessors Plat Map <br />The Kittitas County Assessor's plat maps should not be used as an accurate resource for identifying road <br />names. Plat maps often show private roads that were not constructed, duplicate road names, or road <br />names that have been changed.
