KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE; March 9, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to authorize the Director <br />of Airport Operations Signature on Grant Application <br />Documents for Bowers Field Runway 7/25 Design using <br />2020 Airport Fund Reserves <br />BACKGROUND: During the 2019 State Legislative Session, the Board of <br />County Commissioners submitted a Capital Budget <br />Request supporting design for rehabilitating runway 7/25 at <br />Bowers Field. That request is now bogged down with the <br />Department of Commerce pending reauthorization from the <br />legislature. The Director of Airport Operations now desires <br />seeking funding support for the design effort from <br />Washington State Aviation Division (WSDOT). A <br />resolution stating Board authorization of grant matching <br />funds is required with grant submittal. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works/Airport Operations. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to authorize the Director of Airport <br />Operations signature on WSDOT grant application <br />documents committing 2020 Airport Fund reserves as grant <br />match. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Airport Operations <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution. <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
