Response 1: <br />ProjecVEvent*uescnptron <br />The year 2020 marks the 1 00th anniversary of the passage of the '1 9th <br />Amendment, guaranteeing and protecting unmen's constitutional right to vote. ln <br />honor of the centennial of uomen's sulfrage in the United States, v\ie seek io unite, <br />celebrate, count, and empovver all women of Kittitas County. Our Voices of Kittco is <br />a collaborative effort of individuals and organizations, under ihe auspice of the <br />Kittitas League of Women Voters, uiho will: <br />-Share the stories of Kittitas County women through exhibits and events on local <br />uomen (past and preseni) and lhe suffrage movement <br />-Connect to other regional, statewide, and national initiatives around the <br />Centennial <br />-Encourage voter registration, census participation, and public service at local <br />community events and canvassing efforts <br />-Promote \ omen's rights and health <br />Our Voices of Kittco project and activities include the co-promotion of our various <br />effotls to meet our purpose through a brochure, \ebsite, Facebook page, and <br />other promotions, culminating in collaborative public events on Ociober 24,202A. <br />The co-promotion will focus on an entire year of activities through the collective <br />efforts oi arts, history, health, education, and public service in Kittitas County. <br />Planned activiiies that will be organized and promoted throughout the year include <br />library events, special art and history exhibits, and celebrations in merchant shops. <br />One e><ample of an activity planned is the Donna Nlylander play, "May's Vote," <br />wtrich tells the stroy of tuo Washington State raomen who led the campaign for <br />vromen's voting rights. The October 24 evenl will include a ualking/driving tour of <br />homes of signiflcant women of Kittitas County, stories of Kittitas County rromen <br />through live performances, and activities throughout the communities. As \/ue \ ilrk <br />with our current and proposed parlners and pull togeiher events and activiiies that <br />celebrate the lives of vrnmen, these will be pushed out through the special website <br />ourvoicesofkittco.com, the state website suffragel 0Owa.com, Facebook, <br />advertising, and trirn special publications that will be created through the Daily <br />Record.
