WSDA Agreement No. K2871 <br /> <br />K2871 Grant Agreement <br />Objective 1: <br />This project will prevent the spread of apple maggot populations in Kittitas County, Washington. <br /> <br />Project Beneficiaries <br />Estimate the number of project beneficiaries: 150 <br />Does this project directly benefit socially disadvantaged farmers? No <br /> <br />Statement of Enhancing Specialty Crops <br /> <br />By checking the box below, I confirm that this project enhances the competitiveness of specialty crops in accordance <br />with and defined by 7 U.S.C. 1621. Further information regarding the definition of a specialty crop can be found at <br />www.ams.usda.gov/services/grants/scbgp. <br /> <br />I confirm the above <br /> <br />Continuation of Project Information <br />This project is not a continuation of another project. <br /> <br />Other Support from Federal or State Programs <br />There are no state or federal grant funds other than SCBGP being requested to fund this work. <br /> <br />External Project Support <br />The stakeholders who support this project are Washington State Tree Fruit Association (more than 2000 members), <br />Kittitas County Farm Bureau (growers on over 100,000 acres) and Kittitas Reclamation District (irrigation district <br />supporting 40,000 acres of irrigated cropland). All of these organizations are dedicated to preventing the spread of apple <br />maggot into newly planted and existing commercial orchard systems.
