• Piaget Sound overflow. Population in the greater Seattle area has been growing <br />by more than 1,000 people a week since 2010. Ellensburg is now feeling the <br />pressure of population "spill-over," a combination of increased commuters from <br />Ellensburg to Seattle jobs, and permanent residents, seeking relief in Ellensburg <br />from the pressures of crowded highways and communities. The pressure is <br />evident in a very tight housing market. Ellensburg should expect spill-over in <br />businesses choosing to relocate. This may be an opportunity or threat, <br />depending on the nature of the business. Ellensburg should act now to prioritize <br />Industry clusters most compatible with the future we envision for ourselves. <br />Recommendation <br />As a bedroom community to the <br />Leverage community assets and strengths <br />Puget Sound, our focus should <br />to take charge of our future rather than <br />be self-directed rather than <br />allow the community to develop to meet <br />allowing our position to be <br />Puget Sound's needs. <br />extemally dictated.
