TOURISM PROMOTIONS AGREEMENT <br />January 1, 2017-December 31, 2018 <br />Between the City of Ellensburg <br />and <br />The Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce <br />A oo 1178-otf <br />This Agreement Is made and entered Into thfs 19 day of J'a.At,., ,·2011. by and <br />between the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce, hereinafter "Chamber." and the <br />City of EJlenaburg, a munlotpal corporation, hereinafter °Clty,11 and witnesses that : <br />WHEREAS, RCW 67.28.1816 provides, In part, that "All revenue from taxes imposed <br />under said <br />Chapter shall be credited to a special fund In the treasury of the municipality Imposing <br />such tax <br />and used solely for the purpose of paying all or any part of the cost of tourism <br />proJnollon, acquisition of t.ourlsm-releted faclllties, or operation of tourism-related <br />facllRies ... "; and <br />WHEREAS, the City's Lodging· Tax revenues have been credited to the Lodging Tax <br />Fund;and <br />WHEREAS, the City applied through the City of Ellensburg Lodging Tax Advisory <br />CommHtee ("the L TAC1 for financial assistance from the City's lodging Tax proceeds <br />{'1he <br />Proposal•): and <br />WHEREAS, the City has detennined that the ectMly herein described promotes the <br />general welfare, health end safety of the citizens of the City, and Is In the best Interests <br />of the City in regard to the promotion of tourlsm in the City of Ellensburg, the City <br />intends to disperse City Lodging Tax proceeds to the Chamber to assist with Its <br />Proposal, and hereby enters Into this Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the City and the Chamber have succe~sfully cooperated under an <br />agreement beginning In 2001 that resulted In the provision of tourism development <br />services for the community ; and <br />WHEREAS, the Chamber is qualified and willing to continue providing such services to <br />~eC~; . <br />NOW THEREFORE, and In consideration of the mutual covenants and promises of the <br />parties hereinafter set forth, it is agreed as follows : <br />Tourism Promotions Agreement <br />1 <br />-87-
