Land Use <br />GPO 2.9 The process and formula for population projection and allocation in Kittitas County is <br />outlined in the County -wide Planning Policies. To achieve and maintain rural character and <br />resmuce based industries, the allocation of population growth to rural and resource lands should <br />be minimized and should not represent a significant portion ofthe County's residential growth <br />capaciv- <br />GPO 2.10 When adapting development regulations, Kittitas County shall notify property owners <br />that zoning and land use may change, and will consider requests for amendments made to <br />individual properties. <br />GPO 2.10A Kittitas County recognizes the imports= of Natural Area. Preserves and Natural <br />Resource Conservation Areas administered by the Washington Sh tc Department of Natural <br />Resources under RCW 79.70 and 79.71. The County will seek to be included in the identification <br />and development of management plans for these sites located within the County. <br />GPO 2.14E The County may develop study areas, either Countywide or specific geographic <br />locations, for analysis and implementation of a variety of planning techniques and tools, <br />including but not limited to: subarea plans, zoning designations, design standards and <br />development requirementL <br />GPO 2.1 OC Study areas shall be considered for the following issues and areas. <br />• Teanaway Drainage Basin <br />Freeway Interchanges <br />■ Yakima River Watershed Planning <br />Snoqualmle Pass subarea, including Gold Creek <br />Easton <br />Ronald <br />Thorp <br />Vantage <br />GPO 2.11 Kittitas County recognizes the need to provide adequate and efficient fire services to <br />all areas of the County. The following sees should be utilized: <br />• Adopt and implement the most current version of the International Fire Code including <br />the Urban -- Wildiand Interface Code (UWIC) <br />• Participate in the Community Fire Wise Programs <br />• Develop Community Fire Wise Plus <br />Encourage coordination with and between Fire Districts <br />Encourage coordination with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources <br />GPO 2.12A Kittitas County shall work with cities in collaborative efforts that result in transfer of <br />development rights, to encourage and promote the protection of Rural Lands, Natural Resource <br />Lands, Forest Lands and Agriculture Lands.
