Land Use Detail <br />For Kittitas County, PTV America analyzed the area with using a variety of sources of <br />information to create a credible database of land use information. This involved using <br />the Kittitas County GIS coverage, inventorying occupancy by land use type, and <br />computing expected numbers of dwelling units, employees, and students. These were <br />compared with previous data and computations. <br />All land use data was summarized into the following: <br />LUl Single Family Residential includes those lands occupied by either a <br />single family home, a manufactured home, or a duplex on a single lot. <br />Measured in dwelling units. <br />LU2 Multi-Family Residential uses three or more or more residential units on <br />a parcel of land. Also, this category includes mobile home parks, <br />apartment buildings, and condominiums. Measured in dwelling units. <br />LU3 Hotel includes motel rooms, hotels, and camp areas. Measured in number <br />of rooms or designated camp areas. <br />L U4 Retail Trade includes a variety of uses identified by Kittitas County staff. <br />Retail uses include a broad range of establishments which sell goods <br />directly to the general public, such as restaurants, automotive dealers, <br />home furnishings, food stores or other products. Measured in thousand <br />square feet. <br />LU5 Industrial and Manufacturing includes a variety of uses identified by <br />Kittitas County staff, within a broad range of general or specialty <br />contractors: the production of food, textile, wood, furniture, paper, <br />printing, metal, machinery, electrical and other products; and also <br />includes Transportation, Communication and Public Utilities, such as <br />railroads, trucking and warehouse, air transportation, pipelines, <br />communication towers and electrical, gas and sanitary services.
