Response 2.1 : <br />Evidence* <br />In a recent assessment of our register book, vve found that 72% of our visitors who <br />signed it vvere from areas more than 50 miles, totaling 571 visitors of an overall <br />791. Of these individuals, when inquired, half had indicated they vvere staying <br />overnight due to comments such as "heard from the hotel" verbally or written. This <br />is out of a current total of 5,119 people who have visited the museum; with 3,639 <br />attending for exhibit or general purpose. <br />Most of these individuals inquired about other activities in and around Ellensburg <br />and Kittitas County, such as food, shopping, educational offerings, other museums <br />and historical sites. Of these, we are certain that at least 50% will purchase meals, <br />gas, gifts, and more while passing through Kittitas County. Guests to the museum <br />have identified they come from locations outside Kittitas County and the state of <br />Washington. We also direct visitors to local attractions in and around Kittitas <br />County and Ellensburg, such as museums, historic sites, recreational opportunities <br />and more. <br />Our Facebook page reflects primary visitation by individuals from 50+ miles, <br />including Seattle, Spokane, Tacoma, Portland, Vancouver, Kennewick, Moses <br />Lake, and Kent all within the top 1 O cities following our page. <br />We have been collecting data from individuals who sign up for our tours through <br />our website including zip codes and email addresses. These individuals also <br />receive a questionnaire which asks about the event, their experience, and <br />questions such as length of stay, place of stay, etc. This will continue as long as we <br />have the Walking Tour program. <br />We have received commitment from some of our organizations that meet at the <br />museum that the attendees will be staying in the area overnight. We have <br />committed hotel stays for 5 presenters (1 night each), and one Museum <br />Association group (totaling 6 nights). We have also had an additional 4 individuals <br />stay in Ellensburg solely to visit the Museum and its events (2 individuals, 2 times). <br />2500 character linit
