No pruning will be done to a height greater than 50% of total tree height. The cut limbs <br />will be chipped on site. <br />7. Trees less than 8 inches OBH will be spaced leaving 2 feet -5 feet between <br />crowns . Live and dead limbs will be pruned up to a height of 15 feet. Limbs will be <br />pruned when branches are larger than 2 inches diameter (regardless of length) or <br />greater than 2 feet in length (regardless of diameter). No pruning will be done to a <br />height greater than 50% of total tree height. The cut limbs and stems will be chipped on <br />site. Trees < 3 feet high do not require pruning. <br />8. Non-coniferous brush will be cut and chipped/mowed on site unless islands are <br />pre-designated or agreed to by the landowner. <br />9. Chips will be dispersed evenly across the site not to exceed a depth greater than <br />4 inches. <br />10. Cut stump heights will be made as close to the ground as possible, not to extend <br />more than 2 inches above closest terrain . Flat cuts will be made so that it does not <br />create a sharp stump . 11. Ground disturbance from machinery use shall not exceed <br />10% on each acre and berms, ruts and other operator caused ground disturbance will <br />be smoothed out to original contours before leaving the immediate work area. <br />Industrial Fire Precaution Levels (IFPL) <br />By law, WAONR uses two closure systems for reducing the risk of wildfires, one for the <br />personnel who work in the forest and one for the general public. Contractor will abide by <br />the IFPLs listed on the WAONR for personnel who work in the forest. Information on <br />the level for the day and the related requirements can be found on the ONR website or <br />by calling 1 800 527-3305. <br />8. Site specific handling of any Endangered Species, Migratory Bird Act and/or wetland <br />issues. <br />a. Each individual property was assessed prior to implementation for various <br />concerns. Most properties of Sky Meadows and Pine Loch Sun target <br />communities are located within nesting and roosting habitat of Northern Spotted <br />Owl, so no work was implemented during March 1st -July 31st to comply with <br />condition (p) of Scope of Work identified in E15-243 project. Since most work <br />could only occur in these target communities from August 1 st thru the fall work <br />season, each individual site was assessed for migratory nesting bird activity. It is <br />stated in the condition that if removal activities take place wi thin nesting season , <br />a breeding survey be conducted and that vegetation removal should occur from <br />late summer to mid-winter. This standard guideline was followed. In most cases, <br />individual properties were assessed by a qualified professional for a breeding <br />bird survey, to plan for implementation, however, most individual projects were <br />moved outside of the migratory nesting bird window, but a survey was still
