(q) All dogs that are found to be dan gerous dogs shall be registered as under KCC 6.01.350 . 4. All civil infracti ons under this section are subject to KCC 6.01.060 . ARTICLE III : HUMAN RESPONSIBILITY FOR DOGS 06.01.180 Con trol of Dogs . It is un lawful for any owner to permit any doos to engage in any of the fo ll owing behavior; 1. level 1 Behavior. Level 1 behavi or occurs when a doq IS at large . 2. Level 2 Behavior. Level 2 behavior occurs when a dog while at large, menaces , chases , displays threateni ng or agg ressi ve beha vio r. or otherwise threatens or endangers th e safety of any pe rson . domestic an imal or livestock. 3. Level 3 Behavior. Leve l 3 behavior occ urs when a dog while at large. causes physical Inju ry to any person . domes ti c ani mal or live stock. 4. Level 4 Behavior. l eve l 4 behavior occurs when a dog. although not at large . bites or causes physical in/uIY to any person, domestic anim al or li vestock. 5. Level 5 Behavior. Le vel S beha vior occurs when a dog wh il e al large. bites or causes severe Injury to any person , domestic ani mal or livestock. 6. Le vel 6 Behavior. Leve! 6 behavior occurs when a dog : (a Whether or not confined . causes the serious phys ical injury or death of a natural person : or (b ) Is use d as a weapo n In Ihe commission of a crime : or (c Kills any domestic anim al or livestock. 06 .01.1 90 Control of potent ially dangetous fdang erous dogs . J • ,It is unlawf ul for any owner to fall to comply with the followi ng prov isions applicable to dogs which have engaged in behaviors described in Section 06.01.180, which may resu lt in Ih e dog being impounded and he ld un lillhe anima l owne r has met the fo ll ow ing requ iremen ts: (a) Dogs which have exhibited Level 2 behavior shall be restrained in a manner that prevents the dog from reach ing any public sidewalk. or adjoi ning property. Such dogs must be located so as not to interfere with the public's legal access to the dog owner's properly . Whenever the dog is off the animal owner 's premises it must be on a chain leash under the actu al control of a capable person. In addition , the department may require the animal owner to put up warning signs and obtain and maintain proo f of publtc liability insurance as required in Kittitas County Code 6.01.350(2.).
