PROJECT NARRATIVE 1. Project Description: Describe the scope of work. Indicate the major work involved, including a brief comparison of existing and proposed conditions. The proposed scope of work includes replacing or moving structures in Runje Field including bleachers multi-game court, and climbing poles ; locating bike racks and wayfinding signs at major intersections in the downtown. 2. Explain the specific Infrastructure issues the project addresses and how they are linked to economic development improvements. Visitors experience difficulty while navigating the downtown area which could be resolved by installing wayfinding signs for restrooms, parking, parks, trailhead, and the cemetery. We have seen a significant increase in bicycle traffic downtown, but without the ability to lock a bike up safely, we find that most visitors get their business done quickly and move on. With the addition of bike racks in the commercial zone, we hope to extend their visits and encourage them to patronize more businesses. Through feedback from citizens and event organizers, we have identified several small projects in Runje Field that would improve the functionality and safety of the space, which is a cornerstone to our downtown core. These projects include bleachers, replacement of climbing poles, relocation of multi-game court, and increased power service. 3. Awaiting Funding: multi-game court relocation , way-finding signs, bike racks, power to park . The wayfinding signs and bike racks can be designed, purchased, and installed by staff. The power and court work will need to be completed by a contractor, and therefore may be delayed in the process of contracting. 4. Right of Way Phase: None Is It Required?
