The property owners bore the cost except for the removal and disposal of the
old walks, which the City took responsibility for. Sidewalks are inspected each spring and notes
are kept to the condition. Where necessary, sidewalks are posted with "watch your step" signs.
In 1999 the City received grant monies from the State Department of Transportation to replace
sidewalks on the south side of State Route 903 from Dakota Avenue to Colorado Avenue, and
from Washington Alley to Idaho Avenue. This work was done at no cost to the property owner,
and the City was required to pay five percent of the total costs. Work was finished in the spring
of 2000.
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS:
51-1-4TH STREET REPLACEMENT
Schedule: 2018
Estimated Cost: $200,000
51-2 - 5
TH STREET REPLACEMENT & REPAIR
Schedule: 2018
Estimated Cost: $250,000
51-3 -2ND STREET REPLACEMENT
June 15,2016
