This will be <br />a multi-jurisdictional effort open to all eligible local governments. <br />Source(s) of hazards specific to the geographic area to be addressed by the planning activ ity: <br />Earthquake , Mud/Landslide, Volcano , Fire , Other (Specify in Comments), Drought, Flood , Severe Storm(s) <br />Scope of Work (Page 2 of 2) <br />Option that describes the intent of this planning application: <br />Update <br />If a plan update, describe the evaluation process of the existing plan for its strengths, weaknesses and utility: <br />The Kittitas County HMP is reviewed yearly, as outlined in section 17 .5 of the plan. Participating jurisd ictions <br />are to review their sections of the plan to ev aluate any progress that has occurred within the past year. <br />Jurisdictions are to Identify any hazard events that have occurred , any mitigation that has occurred, and any <br />ohanges that are re qu ired. This yearly re v iew is to identify the strengths, weaknesses and util ity of the plan <br />through out the five-year oycle in order to facil itate the update proc.ess. <br />Describe the process for implementing th is planning activity, including the following plan development <br />requirements : 1) participation of agencies, stakeholders and the public; 2) hazard identification and <br />risk/vulnerability assessment; 3) mitigation strategy ; 4) plan adoption ; and 5) plan maintenance: <br />The development process proposed for this planning effort is comprised of 7 phases. Phase 1 involves <br />organizing and revieWing . The pl anning partnership and steeri ng committee will be formed, the cu rrent plan <br />Will be rev lewe'd , and coordinatio n with othe r agencies will occ ur. In phase 2 the hazards will be id entified, the <br />risk assessment updated , and critical facilities and HAZUS updated . Phase 3 involves public outreach and <br />public involvement. Phase 4 involves updating t he g oals , 0bjectlves and actions. Pl'lase 5 develops a plan for <br />monito ring , evaluating and Updati ng the p lan . I n phase 6 the plan will be assembled , an d in phase 7 the pl an <br />will be reviewed and adopted .
