This will be a multi-jurisdictional effort open to all eligible local governments. Source(s) of hazards specific to the geographic area to be addressed by the planning activ ity: Earthquake , Mud/Landslide, Volcano , Fire , Other (Specify in Comments), Drought, Flood , Severe Storm(s) Scope of Work (Page 2 of 2) Option that describes the intent of this planning application: Update If a plan update, describe the evaluation process of the existing plan for its strengths, weaknesses and utility: The Kittitas County HMP is reviewed yearly, as outlined in section 17 .5 of the plan. Participating jurisd ictions are to review their sections of the plan to ev aluate any progress that has occurred within the past year. Jurisdictions are to Identify any hazard events that have occurred , any mitigation that has occurred, and any ohanges that are re qu ired. This yearly re v iew is to identify the strengths, weaknesses and util ity of the plan through out the five-year oycle in order to facil itate the update proc.ess. Describe the process for implementing th is planning activity, including the following plan development requirements : 1) participation of agencies, stakeholders and the public; 2) hazard identification and risk/vulnerability assessment; 3) mitigation strategy ; 4) plan adoption ; and 5) plan maintenance: The development process proposed for this planning effort is comprised of 7 phases. Phase 1 involves organizing and revieWing . The pl anning partnership and steeri ng committee will be formed, the cu rrent plan Will be rev lewe'd , and coordinatio n with othe r agencies will occ ur. In phase 2 the hazards will be id entified, the risk assessment updated , and critical facilities and HAZUS updated . Phase 3 involves public outreach and public involvement. Phase 4 involves updating t he g oals , 0bjectlves and actions. Pl'lase 5 develops a plan for monito ring , evaluating and Updati ng the p lan .
