Debbie Myers
From: Bart Ramsay[georgewashingtonhemp@gmail.com]
Sent: Thursday, December 05, 2013 2:21 PM
To: Debbie Myers
Subject: Public comment regarding marijuanna growing and processing in Kittitas County
Honorable Commissioners, Clerk of the County Commission
My name is Paul Ramsay. My address is 11005 Reecer Creek Road, Ellensburg, WA 98926
I write the Commission to comment on marijuana growth and processing in Kittitas County.
The commission should allow the cultivation and processing of cannabis and hemp on lands zoned for
agricultural use. The county should not adopt policies that restrict cannabis cultivation, and processing beyond
the regulations set forth and adopted by the Washington State Liquor Control Board and the Washington State
Legislature. The WSLC and the Legislature have sufficiently regulated cannabis cultivation and processing on
agricultural zoned lands.
The county should consider legislation and policies regarding cultivation and processing on non-agricultural
zoned lands, such as former municipalities and other densely populated County jurisdictions. Moreover, the
Commission should carefully consider policies and legislation regarding cannabis retail in such populated
jurisdictions. Cultivation and processing should not be allowed, but retail should be allowed in County
population and business centers.
Cannabis is now a crop that is recognized by the State of Washington, which is regulating it's use. Kittitas
County should refrain from adopting policies or legislation that restricts cultivation and processing on
agricultural lands, and should follow the lead of the WSLCB when restricting cannabis retail sales in County
regulated population centers.
Thank you for your considerations,
Paul R. Ramsay
i
