March 25, 2014 <br />To The Kittitas County Commissioners <br />From Lawrence Danton on behalf of the Sand and Sage Sports Car Club <br />I come to you again this year requesting permission to hold an Autocross event at the airport. Our event <br />last year was very well received and well attended and we expect the event to be somewhat larger this <br />year as the site has proven to be one of the best in the entire Western United States. <br />We would like to thank the county for their support in the last two years which has made the event <br />successful and also credit the DNR for their support. Unlike the county, they receive no fee for our use of <br />the site but they have still been unbelievable in their willingness to accommodate our event. <br />Our request is exactly the same as it was last year. <br />We agree up front to all of the stipulations that were placed on us last year. <br />1. No spectators will be allowed inside the Aeronautical fencing for security purposes. <br />2. We will provide an appropriate number of personnel to maintain a safe and secure <br />separation between aircraft/aircraft buildings and the race cars/course. <br />3. Sand and Sage will submit a per day fee of $500 for May 17th and 18th and a half day fee of <br />$250 for the 16th ($1250.00) Payable to the Kittitas County Airport <br />4. Any damages to the airport property sustained during the utilization of the airport property <br />will be the responsibility of the Sand and Sage Sports Car Club. <br />S. We will pay the cost of having the airport swept following the conclusion of the event as <br />discussed with the Airport Manager. (Approximately $200) <br />6. Sand and Sage Sports Car Club will be responsible for properly marking the taxiway closure <br />both day and night as discussed with the Airport Manager. <br />Again this year my service related PTSD has caused me to be a little late with our application. This is <br />entirely a personal medical issue and does not reflect the club and how they operate.
