<br />Comprehensive Plan Update June 1, 2017 <br />Kittitas County Page 1 <br /> <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />Comprehensive Plan Update <br />Kittitas County, WA <br /> <br />Prepared for: Dan Carlson, Planning Director <br />Prepared By: Gary Cooper, Senior Planner <br />Date prepared: June 1, 2017 <br /> <br />Overview <br />This proposed scope of work has been developed based on our initial review of the Kittitas <br />County’s current Comprehensive Plan and following discussions we have had with County <br />representatives. We have approached this Scope of Work by breaking it into phases that <br />represent the key objectives for the completion of the Comprehensive Plan update. Included in <br />our scope of work are the tasks we believe are necessary to be able to make the next version of <br />the County’s Comprehensive Plan a concise document that also consolidates the information <br />that currently exists in an array of planning documents, such as the Shoreline Master Program, <br />Parks Master Plan, etc. Our understanding is that the County wishes to complete this update as <br />expeditiously as possible. Our plan going forward would be to begin reviewing and updating <br />each element of the current Comprehensive Plan immediately. We see the goal of the update <br />as only changing the elements of the current Comprehensive Plan where 1) data are clearly <br />outdated and in need of revision, or 2) areas where new goals, policies, case law or legislation <br />have been developed since the last update which need to be incorporated into the current <br />update. <br />The update effort will consist of the following phases: <br /> Phase 1 – Project Management <br /> Phase 2 – Public Outreach and Stakeholder Engagement <br /> Phase 3 – Mapping and Graphics <br /> Phase 4 – Review of Existing Plans and Data <br /> Phase 5 – Update of Comprehensive Plan Elements <br /> Phase 6 – Complete Draft for County Approval <br /> Phase 7 – Plan Finalization <br /> <br />PHASE 1 – PROJECT MANAGEMENT <br /> <br /> Task 1.1: Develop Schedule and Workplan. <br /> Task 1.2: Communications and Administration. <br /> <br />Phase 1 Time and Materials Fee Estimate: $9,240
