Community involvementand input is essentialto the project success and inform <br />trail planning efforts and attain buy-in.This effort will be supported by additional <br />efforts of the City of Roslyn and our partners to acquire private parcels that <br />separate the Roslyn Urban Forest and The Nature Conservancy managed lands <br />to the North and East. <br />The TeanawayCommunity Forest Advisory Committeeis developing plans for <br />their regional trail networks.Kittitas County has finalized comprehensivetourism <br />and recreational planning efforts for the county that includes promoting public <br />access to the conserved properties mentionedabove.This project represents <br />collaborationbetween the City of Roslyn,City of Cle Elum,City of South Cle <br />Elum,Kittitas County,Kittitas County Parks and Recreation District #1,The <br />Nature Conservancy,Forterra,Kittitas Conservation Trust,Mountains to Sound <br />Greenway Trust,and other private stakeholders.Additional funding for the <br />project will be coordinated by these partners to secure local and other funding <br />sources. <br />2.Kittitas County Tourism Infrastructure Plan:Please explain how the project <br />meets the Goals and Actions in the Kittitas County Tourism Infrastructure Plan as <br />adopted.Also,describe the specific county tourism infrastructure needs the <br />project addressesand how the project directly increases tourism.Explain how <br />the improvementswill promote tourism in Kittitas County and indicate specifically <br />how the improvementswill directly increase economic activity resulting from <br />tourists. <br />•Goal 1-Kittitas County Tourism Infrastructure Plan: <br />Develop integrity of place -enhance Kittitas County's geographical character <br />by developingand improving the environment,agriculture,recreation, <br />heritage,and culture in distinctive ways to differentiate Kittitas County from <br />other areas and to engenderlocal communitypride. <br />This project developsand improves recreation in distinctive ways which <br />differentiates the project area from other areas.The existing trail system is <br />currently used by walkers,dog walkers,hikers,runners,bikers,cross country <br />skiers,snowmobilersand horseback riders.This use is in spite of public <br />access through private lands and the many deficiencies of the trail system: <br />non-connective,poorly signed,eroded,unsafe and deteriorating.The <br />acquisition of critical private parcels will increase awareness and allow for <br />master trail planning efforts to be followed by implementationto improve the <br />recreational experience for all of these user groups.A land stewardship plan <br />will be developedfor these parcels and managementof these lands would be <br />incorporated into the City of Roslyn's Roslyn Urban Forest Citizens Advisory
