to the former 1st floor gymnasium so it may serve as community center and venue for large <br />gatherings,performances and displays.The building will provide adequate space for the library <br />currently located in crowded quarters.City Hall operations and meeting space will be on the <br />ground floor while the library and a large community space will inhabit the 1st floor. <br />Work involvesremoving a small stage and adding ADD accessible bathrooms.This phase would <br />also complete installationof fire sprinklers,electric,plumbing,and heating systems.It would <br />modernize both the library and the large community and venue space.Details of the plan include: <br />•Install 1st floor wall insulation <br />•Install interior and exterior doors;refurbish interior windows <br />•Complete ground floor ceiling installation <br />•Retain significant amounts of original 1st floor wall finishes <br />•Add signage,toilets,accessories and partitions <br />•Complete fire sprinkler systems for ground and 1st floors <br />•Install bathrooms on 1st floor;install kitchenette <br />•Install HVAC system for 1st floor <br />•Complete electrical work for ground floor and affected areas on 1st floor <br />•Refurbish exterior siding where needed <br />•Replace exterior siding where needed <br />•Provide exterior landscaping <br />2.Kittitas County Tourism Infrastructure Plan:Please explain how the project meets the <br />Goals and Actions in the Kittitas County Tourism Infrastructure Plan as adopted.Also, <br />describe the specific county tourism infrastructureneeds the project addresses and how <br />the project directly increases tourism.Explain how the improvementswill promote <br />tourism in Kittitas County and indicate specifically how the improvementswill directly <br />increase economic activity resultingfrom tourists. <br />The large,two-story Roslyn City Hall is the first major historic building tourists see when they <br />drive,bike or walk into town.Because the building is clearly marked City Hall and Library,tourists <br />routinely stop to ask for suggestions about places to stay,to visit or have a meal.The kind service <br />proved by City staff augments that of the Roslyn Visitor Center which is open only on weekends. <br />The Roslyn Library serves both Kittitas County residents and tourists by presenting public <br />presentations on history or literature.The library also serves as a resource for historic <br />informationfor many people interested in the past and present of the area. <br />5
