If your organization collaborates or has created partnerships with other organizations,
groups, or other events to cross -promote in an effort to encourage county -wide
tourism, how is this accomplished?
Collaboration occurs with:
- The City of Roslyn, several local business owners, food vendors,
- The new event venue, Roslyn Yard.
- County breweries Roslyn Brewery, Whipsaw Brewery, Dru Brew Brewery, Mule & Elk Brewery, and Iron
Horse Brewery also collaborate and will feature the event in their promotions and at their facilities.
6. Please explain what plans exist to allow this project to become self-sustaining. Include
any plans for ticket sales, event sponsors, and other cost -recovery models.
The strategies for making the Festival self-sustaining are:
a. Increase event participation through marketing and word of mouth (the Festival has seen steady growth
since its inception in 2013).
b. Continuously improve the event experience. This begins in October 2016 with the move to the
prominent and large Roslyn Yard. For 2017 it will include a Coal Mines Trail Bike Excursion and prominent
beer awards.
c. Increase revenue wherever possible. Ticket sales have been the primary revenue source for the festival
and admission fees will be raised once the event exceeds 300 participants. Sponsorships also will be a
priority, as will expanded merchandise sales.
Additional information: Provide any additional information which will assist the Lodging
Tax Advisory Committee in evaluating your project and its benefit to tourism. Please
limit any additional written information to one page and any other additional
attachments to 3 pages. Regardless of how much additional information is included,
only the first 3 pages will be provided to reviewers.
Project Budget: Please attach a copy of the complete budget for this project/proposal.
If your agency operates independently of this project application it may not be
necessary to submit the entire agency budget. You must submit a budget which
specifics pertains to the project/event for which you are reguesting funding and
adheres to the basic budget format shown below.
County -wide Lodging Tax Application P a g e 112
