<br />Page 15│Kittitas County Air Quality Survey│9/30/2014 <br /> <br />Solid Fuel Burning Appliances <br />Forty percent of the Kittitas County households surveyed reported having have some type of solid <br />fuel burning appliance in use during various tfmes of the year. One third of those respondents <br />reported having a secondary fuel burning appliance as a supplemental heat source to their primary, <br />which means these individuals have more than one appliance on site. Almost 90% of indoor solid <br />fuel burners report using firewood and 18% report using pellets. Less than 5% percent use <br />alternatfve materials such as presto logs. These percentages do not represent exclusive fuel use. The total <br />percentages of fuel type usage is greater than 100% because the survey allowed for single respondents to <br />report using multfple types of solid fuel. <br />FIGURE 14: Types of Indoor Burning Practices
