RESOLUTION NO. 2026-________
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
BETWEEN KITTITAS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND THE WASHINGTON TRAFFIC
SAFETY COMMISSION
WHEREAS, RCW 39.34, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, provides the capability for
public agencies to cooperate by providing services and facilities for mutual advantage; and
WHEREAS, the Washington Traffic Safety Commission (WTSC) and Kittitas
County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) have the ability and desire to enter into such a cooperative
agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the WTSC has and will provide funding to law enforcement agencies
to participate as the Law Enforcement Liaison project to strengthen partnerships between
WTSC and local law enforcement agencies and increase sustained las enforcement
engagement in traffic safety and;
WHEREAS, that funding facilitates the goals and duties of the Kittitas County
Sheriff’s Office in improving the safety of the motoring public by providing these emphasis
patrols while reducing the fiscal impact on the County,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Interlocal Agreement between
Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington Traffic Safety Commission for high
visibility emphasis patrols is approved and shall be filed in a manner consistent with RCW
39.34.040.
