ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Acknowledge Amendment FFY23 HSGP
(Homeland Security Grant Program) Agreement E24-135.
BACKGROUND: The Original Request to Acknowledge the FFY23 Homeland
Security Grant Program (HSGP) was approved on January 2, 2024. The purpose of the
FFY23 Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) is to fund state, local, territorial, and
tribal governments to prevent, protect against, and respond to terrorist attacks, and
prepare the nation for threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk to the security of the
United States.
1st Amendment - This grant has been amended to increase the amount from $43,643 to
$102,843 and lengthen the amount of time we can spend the funds from 1/31/2026 to
7/31/2026. We are also purchasing night vision goggles with a portion of these increased
funds for the following other Counties:
Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan
2nd Amendment — This grant was amended for a second time, to increase the amount to
$171,088 and allow us to spend the funds through 8/31/2026. We will use the funds to
_pur_chase_more night vision goggles.
INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecutor's Office has reviewed and approved
the FFY23 HSGP Agreement.
RECOMMENDATION: Request to Acknowledge FFY23 HSGP (Homeland Security
Grant Program) Agreement E24-135.
HANDLING: No handling.
