AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: August 4, 2026
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Set a Public Hearing for September 1,
2026, at 2:00 pm Local Time to Consider a Lease with
Department of Natural Resources for Property
Located at the Kittitas County Airport, Bowers Field.
BACKGROUND: Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has
requested a new land lease at Bowers Field. DNR
originally entered into a lease with the County for Lot
H-1A on May 11, 1977. During the time of the
original lease, DNR constructed improvements on the
site and continuously occupied the lot. Department of
Natural Resources desires to enter a new Lease for Lot
H-1A of Bowers Field. A new lease has been drafted
for consideration.
INTERACTION: Public Works; Prosecuting Attorney’s Office;
Department of Natural Resources
RECOMMENDATION: Set a Public Hearing for September 1, 2026, to
consider a Lease with Department of Natural
Resources for County property located at Bowers
Field Airport.
HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works

Department of Natural Resources for Property Located at the Kittitas County Airport, Bowers Field.
