AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: July 21, 2026
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of
the Agreement between the Washington State Department of Corrections and the County
of Kittitas, Washington for the Housing of Inmates.
BACKGROUND: This Agreement is signed between the Washington State Department
of Corrections and Kittitas County for the housing of inmates beginning 7/1/2026. This
Agreement is a 1 for 1 agreement allowing DOC to house inmates and in return KCJ will
house DOC inmates for the same number of days.
INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecutor's Office has reviewed and approved
this Agreement.
RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of the
Agreement between the Washington State Department of Corrections and the County of
Kittitas, Washington for the Housing of Inmates.
HANDLING: Please return 1 signed original to KCSO. Sheriff's Office to provide a
fully executed Agreement back to the BOCC upon signature by DOC.
