KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: July 21, 2026 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Award the Contract for <br />the Horizontal Curve Safety Project (CRP 319-23) and <br />Authorize the Public Works Director to execute the same. <br />BACKGROUND: On October 3, 2023, the Kittitas County Board of County <br />Commissioners (BOCC) approved Resolution 2023-168 <br />initiating the County Road Project CRP 319-23 for the <br />Horizontal Curve Safety Project. <br />On June 16, 2026, the BOCC approved a Notice of Call for <br />Sealed Bids for the construction of said project. Sealed bids <br />were opened publicly on July 9, 2026, at 10:00am, at <br />Kittitas County Public Works. The engineers' estimate for <br />the project was $430,000.00 to $480,000.00. There were <br />three (3) qualified bids received with the lowest responsive <br />bid from M2 Industrial, Inc., in the amount of $370,947.00. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution to Award the Contract for the <br />Horizontal Curve Safety Project (CRP 319-23) and <br />Authorize the Public Works Director to execute the same. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) copy to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution with Bid Tab. <br />LEAD STAFF: Joshua Fredrickson, Public Works Director <br />
