AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO THE BRIDGE IMPROVEMENT TYPE 3
COMPETITIVE GRANT PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZE PUBLIC WORKS
DIR.ECTOR TO SUBMIT THE SAME
WHEREAS: Kittitas County has jurisdiction of one hundred thirteen (l l3) bridges in the
National Bridge Inventory (NBI); and
WHEREAS: The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Highway Administration
(FHWA) administers the Type 3 Highway Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation
Competitive Grant Program, also knows as the Bridge Improvements Type 3
(BIT3) Competitive Grant Program; and
WHEREAS: Kittitas County Public Works intends to submit a Bridge Improvements Type 3
Grant Application;
WHEREAS: The Bridge Improvement Type 3 (BIT3) Application requires that funding
applicants have Chair Authorization identifying Authorization to the Kittitas
County Public Works Director on behalf of Kittitas County for grant application
submittal.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED thatthe Kittitas County Board of County
Commissioners declares it be in the best interest of the public and does hereby authorize the
Public Works Director to sign and submit the BIT3 grant application.
