RESOLUTION
2026-
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CLOSURE OF THE LOWER KITTITAS
COUNTY TRANSFER STATION ON JULY 13, 2026
WHEREAS: pursuant to RCW 36.16.100 and KCC 2.20.010, the Kittitas County Board
of Commissioners has the authority to approve changes by Resolution in
the days and hours that County offices shall be kept open for the
transaction of business; and
WHEREAS: the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Lower Kittitas
County Transfer Station, located at 1001 Industrial Way, Ellensburg, WA,
to be closed to the public on July 13, 2026; and
WHEREAS: said closure will be for the purpose of facilitating the relocation of
departmental operations, equipment, records, and associated functions to
the new Kittitas County Transfer Station location, to ensure an orderly and
efficient transition of services; and
WHEREAS: The new Kittitas County Transfer Station, located at 2603 W Green Ave.,
Ellensburg, WA, will resume regular operating hours on July 14th, 2026
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners
hereby approves and authorizes a change to the regular hours of service offered at the Lower
Kittitas County Transfer Station, such that the Lower Kittitas County Transfer Station, currently
located at 1001 Industrial Way, Ellensburg, WA, will be closed to the public on July 13, 2026,
and will re-open to the public at the new Kittitas County Transfer Station location on July 14,
2026.
