PUBLIC <br />COMMISSIONERS' <br />WEDNESDAY <br />Board members <br />Commissioner <br />KITTITAS <br />WORKS STUDY <br />COUNTY <br />SESSION MINUTES <br />AUDITORIUM, 205 <br />Special Meeting <br />11:00 AM <br />WEST 5TH ROOM 109 <br />May 27, 2026 <br />present: Vice Cha11 <br />irman Brett Wachsmith, and <br />Laura Osiadacz . <br />Others: Joshua Fredrickson <br />Public Works; Amy McGuffin <br />Melissa Schumaier, Chelsey <br />Arden Thomas, Samantha Cox, <br />Kittitas County Chamber of <br />Loeffers, Public Health. <br />Lisa Godden, <br />Commerce* <br />At 111*901 AM Vice Chairman Brett Wachsmith opened the Public Works <br />Study Session. <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />Amy McGuffin addressed the Board of County Cnmm;qqinnprcz a„r <br />commended Public Works staff, <br />including Joshua Fredrickson, for <br />coorcination and assistance on South County Chamber of <br />projects, including work associated with the Cle Elum <br />funding process. <br />Commerce <br />building <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION FOR APPROVAL OF SUBMISSION OF <br />APPLICATION OF SIX ELIGIBLE CENSUS TRACTS TO THE WASHINGTON STATE <br />DEPARTMENT OF COMMRCE FOR NOMINATION TO THE OPPORTUNITY ZONE 2.0 <br />i * neiel z#�j � I <br />Joshua Fredrickson briefed the Board of County Commissioners on a <br />proposed Resolution authorizing submission of six eligible census <br />tracts to the Washington State Department of <br />to the Opportunity Zone 2.0 Program. Joshua <br />Commerce for nomination <br />Fredrickson advised the <br />nomination supports economic devel(I",pment, housing, and job creation <br />in eligible areas., Amy McGuffin further explained that County action <br />was required to satisfy program eligibility requirements and that <br />participating municipalities would provide letters of support. <br />Following discussion, <br />Resolution 2026-94 and <br />motion.
