HomeMy WebLinkAboutKC Bylaws Final 2Kittitas County Employee Wellness Program Employee Input Committee (EIC) Bylaws Article I – Name The name of this body shall be the Kittitas County Employee Input Committee (EIC). Article II – Authority and Oversight The EIC operates under the discretion and authority of the Board of County Commissioners and serves in an advisory and coordinating capacity for the Kittitas County Wellness Program. Article III – Purpose The purpose of the EIC is to support and promote the health and well-being of Kittitas County Employees and elected officials by: • Encouraging physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices • Promoting mental health awareness and resources • Fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace environment • Coordinating activities that enhance employee morale, teamwork and camaraderie Article IV – Membership Section 1. Composition The EIC shall consist of one volunteer representative from each County department. Departments are encouraged, but not required, to have representation. Members shall be appointed/designated by their Department Head/Elected Official. Section 2. Voluntary Participation Participation in the EIC is voluntary and is not a requirement or condition of employment. Section 3. Term of Service Members serve indefinitely or until they choose to step down or are no longer able to participate. Departments may appoint a replacement at their discretion. Article V – Roles and Responsibilities Section 1. Committee responsibilities The EIC shall: • Coordinate and promote employee wellness initiatives • Organize County-wide activities and events • Encourage participation in wellness programs and EIC activities • Ensure activities are inclusive and accessible to all eligible employees Section 2. Officers The EIC may designate members to serve in informal leadership roles (e.g., Chair, Co- Chair, Secretary) as needed to support coordination and communication. Article VI – Meetings The EIC shall meet quarterly to plan, coordinate, and evaluate wellness activities. Meeting frequency and format may be changed or amended at the discretion of the Committee. Article VII – Program Activities The EIC shall coordinate a variety of voluntary activities, including but not limited to: • Wellness programs and challenges • Initiatives promoting healthy nutrition and lifestyle habits • Educational opportunities related to mental and physical health, local community programs, etc. • Social and morale-building events • Holiday and seasonal celebration events Annual activities may include: • Social gatherings and team-building opportunities • Cooking or wellness-related contests • Themed office decorating events and seasonal celebrations Article VIII – Participation and Eligibility Section 2. Voluntary Participation Participation in all EIC and wellness activities is voluntary. Participation or non- participation shall not affect employment status, job duties, or performance evaluations. Article IX – Confidentiality Any personal or health-related information collected as part of wellness programs shall be kept strictly confidential and managed in accordance with applicable privacy laws and County policies. Article X – Non-Discrimination All wellness program activities and EIC initiatives shall be conducted in a manner that is inclusive and non-discriminatory, providing equal opportunity for participation to all eligible employees. Article XI – Amendments These bylaws may be amended as needed with input from the EIC and subject to review or approval by the Board of County Commissioners, as applicable. Article XII – Adoption These bylaws shall become effective upon acknowledgment or approval by the Board of County Commissioners
