Kittitas County <br />Public Health Department <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />04.21.26 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />The Board of County Commissioners approves the Amendment 2 between the Washington State <br />Healthcare Authority and Kittitas County Health Department. (Effective Dates: 07.01.2026- <br />06.30.2028) <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The purpose of the amendment is to extend the term of the contract for another 2 years and <br />increase funding. The original contract language allows staff to provide access to baby and child <br />dentistry services to detect and prevent early childhood dental decay by engaging dentists in <br />seeing Apple Health/ Medicaid-eligible clients, ages birth to six, and ages 6 to 13 who are clients <br />of Developmental Disabilities Administration with an emphasis on children of color and children <br />ages 0 to 2 as well as other eligible but underserved children in the service area, through <br />engaging local public health departments and/or community partners in Outreach and case <br />management. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />Kittitas County Prosecutors: Reviewed and approved 04.02.26. <br />Kittitas County Auditors: Reviewed and approved 04.03.26. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Board of County Commissioners approves the Amendment 2 between the Washington State <br />Healthcare Authority and Kittitas County Health Department.
