n <br />rL) <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE April7,2026 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to approve a Resolution to Award a Bid & <br />Contract to Serve as the Official County Newspaper from <br />7l1126 - 6130/27 . <br />BACKGROUND: Staff published a Notice of Call for Bids to serve as the Official <br />County Newspaper beginning July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2021. The Commissioners <br />office Staff published the Call for Bids and sent a letter with a copy of the notice to the <br />Daily Record and the Northern Kittitas County Tribune. <br />Sealed Bids were received from the Daily Record and the Northern Kittitas County <br />Tribune, and they were opened on Thursday March 26,2026, at2:00 p.m. in the <br />Commissioner's office. <br />According to RCW 36.72.075 the county legislative authority shall award the contract to <br />the best and lowest responsible bidder, giving consideration to the question or circulation <br />in awarding the contract, with a view to giving publication of notices the widest publicity <br />INTERACTION: <br />DAILY RECORD BID: <br />Legal Advertising - based on a 6-column format: $9.00 per column inch. <br />According to the Daily Record their rates are 32o/o lower than their published legal <br />advertising rates of $13.25 extended to all general legal notice advertisers as noticed on <br />their published rate card. They have the highest reach and circulation of newspapers in <br />Kittitas County. Their average paid daily circulation is 2, 100. They publish legal notices <br />three days a week in print on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Legal notices appear on <br />their website (www.DaillrRecordNews.com) at no additional charge and their website is <br />one of the top viewed websites in the county and garners an average of 150,000 <br />pageviews per month, and is updated daily.
