Kittitas County <br />Public Health Department <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />April 7, 2026 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />The Board of County Commissioners approves public notice for the 2026 one-time request for <br />proposal (RFP) for the opioid abatement strategies. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Board of County Commissioners and the City of Ellensburg have pooled a portion of their <br />opioid settlement funds for a one-time RFP. Kittitas County and the City of Ellensburg are <br />participating local governments who executed both the One Washington Memorandum of <br />Understanding (MOU) Between Washington Municipalities and the MOU between the Greater <br />Columbia Region Municipalities to Establish and Opioid Abatement Council to establish a <br />framework for distribution and oversite of opioid funds. <br />The RFP will be a one-time distribution, and the purpose of the funds will follow the MOU <br />abatement strategy requirements. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Kittitas County Prosecutors: Reviewed and approved 03/23/2026 <br />Kittitas County Auditors: <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Board of County Commissioners approves public notice for the 2026 one-time request for <br />proposal (RFP) for the opioid abatement strategies. <br /> <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br />N/A <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Kasey Knutson
