ACTION REQUESTED:
Request the Board of County Commissioners approve and sign the accompanying resolution to adopt the
unemployment compensation rate for 2026.
BACKGROUND:
During the 2023-2024 Accountability Audit, it was discovered that the balance of the Unemployment Fund
has reached a threshold signaling that contributions will become necessary to retain health.
INTERACTION:
It is advised to keep, in reserve, one year's worth of expenses. To reach this threshold, Auditor Finance has
calculated a rate of 0.11% of gross wages for 2026, as listed in the resolution. The resolution was reviewed
by DPA Murphy via LR #12304.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve and sign the Resolution to Adopt the 2026 Internal Rate for Unemployment Compensation of
0.11%.
