COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. MARCH 30, 2026
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith; Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Office Administrator; Jodi Larsen, Office
Administrator; and one member of the public.
REGULAR MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wright opened the Office Administration
meeting.
PUBLIC COMMENT - NONE
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County
Employee Personnel Action Forms and Vouchers.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence
Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week
ending March 20, 2026 & March 27, 2026.
SPECIAL EVENT GRiT – SNOQUALMIE PASS COMMISSIONERS
Vice-Chairman Wachsmith moved to approve a Special Event Application
to hold the annual GRiT – Gravel Ride in Teanaway – Snoqualmie Pass,
on Saturday July 18, 2026, and to grant a waiver to Kittitas County
Code Chapter 5.20.100 – Closing Hours, and conditioned upon
recommendations from Treasurer, Public Works, Sheriff’s Office,
Public Health and the Fire Marshal. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded.
Motion carried 3-0.
SPECIAL EVENT HI-90 GRINDY – 90 MILE BIKE RIDE COMMISSIONERS
Vice-Chairman Wachsmith moved to approve a Special Event Application
to hold the annual HI-90 Grindy – 90 Mile Bicycle Ride, on Saturday
June 6, 2026, and to grant a waiver to Kittitas County Code Chapter
03/30/2026 MINUTES 2
5.20.100 – Penal Bond, and conditioned upon recommendations from
Public Works, Sheriff’s Office, Treasurer, and the Fire Marshal.
Commissioner Osiadacz seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
APPOINTMENT VETERANS ADV. BD – COLMORE & WEST COMMISSIONERS
Vice-Chairman Wachsmith moved to approve the appointment of Russell
Colmore and Christopher West to the Kittitas County Veterans
Advisory Board for a 2-year term, effective immediately and to
expire 12/31/2027. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded. Motion carried 3-
0.
RATIFY REPRESENTATIVE SCHRIER-FLORAL AVE COMMISSIONERS
Vice-Chairman Wachsmith moved to approve and ratify Board signature
on a letter to Representative Schrier regarding Federal
appropriations for the Floral Ave Affordable Housing Development in
Cle Elum WA. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
UPDATE WHITE BOARD COMMISSIONERS
The Board reviewed their current whiteboard topics and provided
status updates.
DISCUSSION COUNTY FACEBOOK COMMISSIONERS
The Board determined that for the week of March 30, 2026, they would
post the following on their Facebook page: Upper County Tax
Collection Announcement; National County Government Month
Proclamation and a visual aid to show how tax dollars are dispersed
around the County.
UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS
Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to
meet with on a weekly basis for the year. The assignments for 2026
were determined during a Board of County Commissioners Office Admin
meeting and they will continue to provide updates at future
meetings.
Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their respective
departments and exchanged details of those meetings.
OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES – There were general updates on
meetings & conversations that the Board participated in,
individually, over the past week.
